Al Raoui ist eine Geschichte aus Tausendundeine Nacht. Sie entstammt ursprunglich der Sammlung von Hauptmann Jonathan Scott (1754-1829). Der britische Offizier in Ostindien sammelte mit grosser Leidenschaft orientalische Geschichten. Seine Version von Tausendundeine Nacht erschien 1811 unter dem Titel The Arabian Nights Entertainments in London. Die vorliegende Fassung von Al Raoui entspricht unverandert der Erstveroeff entlichung 1799 von William Beckford in deutscher und englischer Sprache. In der 689.-691. Nacht aus Tausendundeine Nacht wird von den unglucklichen Liebhabern vom Stamm der Beni Asra berichtet (The lovers of Banu Ozrah). Zu Ihnen gehoert auch Al Raoui.
