English Summary: The present book completes the seven-volume comment on the Songs of the Edda. In 1997 and 2000, two volumes on ueGotterliederuf (divine myths) have been published; in 2004, 2006, 2009, and 2012, four books about epic poetry have been released. The Frankfurt comment on the Edda is the first completed comment on this text corpus since the commentary of Sijmons-Gering between 1927 and 1931. The present volume comments on the first four songs in the Codex Regius: the ueV.luspauf (perhaps the most famous song of the Edda) and the three songs of Odin ueHavamaluf, ueVaftrudnismaluf, and ueGrimnismaluf. Those texts are supplemented by the first comment at all on the Hauksbok edition of the ueV.luspauf and the synopsis of the two editings of the song as well as by a comment on the strophic ueZwergenverzeichnisuf (register of dwarf names) from the ueGylfaginninguf that has an appearance in the texts of the ueV.luspauf.
