Im Anschluss an die Eroerterungen des Namens und die Bestimmung der wahren Philosophie entwickelt Dante eine Konzeption, wonach die Gott eigene Erkenntnis als Erkenntnis der Dinge in ihm selbst, insofern er deren Ursache ist, ebenfalls als Philosophie zu gelten hat.
