The first English translation of Heinrich Brauer and Rudolf Wittkower's famous catalog of Gian Lorenzo Bernini's Architectural Drawings from 1931. Published in 1931, Brauer and Wittkower's catalog of Bernini's drawings remains among the most influential and frequently cited books ever issued by the Bibliotheca Hertziana-Max Planck Institute for Art History in Rome. Like an oracle, it set a new standard of study in the nascent field of baroque design.
