Emil Preetorius: Ein Leben Fur Die Kunst (1882-1973)

The legacy of Emil Preetorius (1883-1973) is both important and remarkably varied. It stems from his achievements as a book illustrator and graphic artist, as a stage designer, collector and art theoretician, as a pedagogue and writer, longtime president of the Bayerische Akademie der Schoenen Kunste art academy and of the Gesellschaft der Bibliophilen society and as the recipient of numerous awards and honors. This symposium publication honors his life and work.
