Die angehende Pianistin Sarah uberlebt den Horror im Konzentrationslager Ravensbruck. Bei der Ruckkehr nach Hause stellt sie mit Schrecken fest, dass ihre Eltern den Tod in einem anderen KZ gefunden haben. Sie lebt deshalb erst einmal bei Onkel und Tante und arbeitet in deren Fabrik. Mit zwei Jahren Verspatung erhalt Tante Johanna per Post Sarahs letzten Brief aus dem KZ an ihre Mutter. Darin schildert die junge Frau die toedliche Hoelle des Lageralltags und die abscheuliche Brutalitat und Blutrunst der SS-AufseherInnen und AErzte. Sarah liest Johanna den Brief vor. Am Tag darauf steht Sarah ihrer ehemaligen Aufseherin gegenuber.
