Lena wird in einem idyllischen Dorf in dem sudamerikanischen Land Paraguay geboren. Schon als Baby verliert sie ihren Vater. Als auch ihre Mutter bei einem tragischen Autounfall ums Leben kommt, wachst Lena bei ihrer Tante auf. Die strenge, jedoch liebevolle Erziehung der Tante lasst Lena zunachst zu einem allseits froehlichen und beliebten Madchen heranwachsen. Doch noch im Teenager-Alter gerat Lena in eine ganz schwierige Lebenssituation. Angst und Unsicherheit beherrschen fortan das Leben von Lena, bis sie sich entschliesst, nach Deutschland auszureisen.
