The book presents research work on the awareness and use of Mental training Strategies among Amateur Boxers In Kenya. The book starts with background information about psychological factors surrounding sports performance. It further defines the mental training training strategies in general sports. These strategies comprise off; goal setting, self-talk, visualization & imagery as well as relaxation. Literature review on each of the four mental training strategies follows.The awareness and use of each of the four mental training strategies among Kenyan boxers were measured using adapted standard questionnaires (MAI & TOPS) respectively.The level of awareness and use of mental training strategies was determined among boxers. The awareness and use of mental training strategies was compared based on gender, success level and sport experience.The results of awareness and use of mental training strategies were discussed in light of literature reviewed, conclusion drawn and recommendations given.
