Western culture has evolved through and continues to be dominated by the male perspective, which has women carrying out tasks for male leaders. As long as this male perspective dominates in our society, women will continue to have difficulties in climbing the corporate ladder. This will ultimately hurt corporations’ bottom lines because diverse workforces increase profits. Current male leaders need to be better educated about the benefits of having female leaders in senior management, and they need to foster an environment in which female leaders can aspire to higher management positions. Once these environments are fostered through education, our society will begin to see a paradigm shift.
