Chitosan a useful natural polymer which was extracted from the naturally aboundant polymer Chitin has been further modified by reaction with cinnamoyl chloride and cinamoyl isothiocyanate to yield two derivatives with multiple chleating centers. These derivatives were found to be very efficient in chelating Cu, Ni, Co, Cr and Fe ions from their solutions. Different absorption isotherms have been investigated. The derivatives were charachterized by spectral tools. The thermal behavior was investigated by TGA analysis and the kinetic parameters of their thermal decomposition were calculate
