This book gives a detailed explanation of the magnetic storm effects on the morphology of the equatorial F2 layer: chapter one is a description of the Earth’s Atmosphere, its composition and various layers. Chapter two gives the detailed description of the sun’s structure and the solar activities that give rise to the formation of the ionosphere and the magnetic storms. Chapter three discusses magnetism, the link between the sun and the earth’s magnetic field leading to the formation of geomagnetic storms. Chapter four, is a brief discussion on the Digisonde portable sounder and the Magnetic Data Acquisition System (MAGDAS) which are the instruments used for this research and Chapter five is a display of the various responses of the Ionospheric F-layer to the magnetic storm. The Authors are of the hope that this monograph will be of great help to research students, HF service providers and related fields.
