Aktuelle Ansatze im Bereich der allgemeinen und slawischen Lehnwortforschung sind Inhalt dieses Bandes. Im Fokus stehen die systematische empirische Untersuchung von Lehnwoertern sowie damit verbundene theoretische und methodologische Probleme. Diese reichen von Fragen der Bestimmung von Lehnwoertern im Basiswortschatz und der Bedeutung eines frequenzbasierten Ansatzes uber diverse Probleme bei der Identifikation von Lehnwoertern, den Anteil von Lehnwoertern in ausgewahlten lexikalisch-semantischen Gruppen, korpuslinguistische Untersuchungen bis hin zu metalexikographischen und pragmatischen Untersuchungen.
