Dabei zeigt sich: Auschwitz war fur die nationalsozialistische Wirtschafts- und Siedlungspolitik von herausragender Bedeutung. Trotz der Nahe zum Konzentrationslager wurde die Stadt zum Modellobjekt bei der Eindeutschung des Ostens.
