The second edition of this book is more extensive and detailed than the previous edition published 20 years ago. New technical methods have increased our understanding of many tumours. The earlier group of monomorphic adenomas has been separated out for purposes of identification, and clearly defined tumours, even if uncommon, are categorized separately. Because of their different pathohistological definitions and differences in prognosis and treatment, a separate listing of the various types of carcinomas was preferred, and new entities are included (for example, polymorphous low-grade adenocarcinoma and basal cell adenocarcinomas). TNM classification of salivary gland tumours has been included along with a more detailed description of tumour-like lesions in the salivary gland. This reference book on pathology, oncology and otorhinolaryngology is intended for clinicians and researchers.
