The term globalization has long found its way into everyday use. Not only real life, but the perception of life and lifestyle have been changed by the process we term globalization. A generation has grown up with the concept that to many in post-war Germany seemed to be the new uncertainty, and they have tuned their antennas to this change. What some see as a new chance brings about anger and aggression in others, and this without a clear understanding of who the winners and losers of globalization are.
The humanities and social science class of the Academy of Science and Literature carried out a symposium in February 2008 as part of the series Future Issues of Society. Experts from a number of fields took part and have contributed chapters to this work. German text.
