Giambattista Tiepolo (1696-1770) created his world-renowned frescoes in the Wurzburg Residence between 1750 and 1753. On the occasion of the 250th anniversary of his death, the Martin von Wagner Museum, which is housed in the Residence, is presenting drawings, etchings, and paintings by Tiepolo, including numerous works from his immediate sphere of activity in Wurzburg: sketched notes by his son, Giandomenico, and traced copies by his most important employee, Georg Anton Urlaub.

The works presented come primarily from the holdings of the university museum, and are supplemented by international loans.
