Das Klanggeschehen in popularer Musik: Perspektiven einer systematischen Analyse und Interpretation

Why do we like music? Why do we like some pieces of music for life, some only for a short time or in certain situations and others not at all. In his study, Bernhard Steinbrecher deals with what sounds in popular music and how musicological analysis methods can contribute to a better understanding of music and its appreciation. Various directions of interpretation as well as traditional and newer music-analytical tools are systematically presented. In a case study on the US band Fugazi, the connections between sound events and ethical and aesthetic evaluation criteria are then reconstructed.
