Laboratorium fur internationale gesetzgeberische Arbeit: Die Geburt der polnischen Rechtsordnung der Zwischenkriegszeit im europaischen Kontext

After the Great War, Poland faced the challenge of domestic legal standardization beyond the borders of European legal circles and of integration into the system of international legal norms. The Second Polish Republic therefore offered the sight of a miniature laboratory for international legislative work, in which the idea of a new, modern Polish law could be compared with the lex lata of foreign legal systems. The work of the Polish Codification Commission took place in a European environment that was characterized by the pursuit of legal standardization, and is therefore to be regarded as a pioneer company for European legal standardization beyond the borders of the legal circles existing in continental Europe.
