The history of the Technical University in Vienna from the Anschluss to 1955, when Austria regained its independence with the State Treaty and, on the other hand, the Austrian universities received a common legal framework for the first time with the University Organization Act, is characterized by several far-reaching upheavals. In addition to the organizational development and the involvement of the university in the war economy, this volume primarily deals with the personnel changes of this period: the expulsion of racially or politically unpopular members of the university, the denazification after the end of the Nazi regime, and the main features of personnel policy decisions between 1938 and 1955.
