The 71st edition of Kurschners Deutscher Literatur-Kalender, reliably documenting the contemporary literary scene in German-speaking countries, records more than 10,000 authors.
Expressing no lit-crit judgements, the Literatur-Kalender presents since more than 130 years living authors who write in German, whatever their nationality or geographical location may be. Entries provide information on address, biographical data, membership in literary organizations and associations, literary awards as well as each writer’s publications.
The extensive indexes, to be found in the appendix, have also been revised and updated thoroughly: they now contain more than 800 translators of literature (along with an index of languages), approximately 1,000 publishing houses, more than 500 literary awards including recent winners, some 600 associations, literary organizations, literary centres (Literaturhauser) etc., some 300 literary journals and periodicals, as well as literary agencies, radio and TV stations’ arts departments or literary features to be found in the printed media.
