Arkady Fiedler (1894-1985) was a Polish writer, journalist and adventurer. He studied philosophy and natural science in Krakow, Poznan and Leipzig. He took part in the Greater Poland Uprising in 1918 and was one of the founders of the Polish Military Organization. He travelled extensively and wrote 32 books which have been translated into 23 languages and sold over 10 million copies in total. His most famous book, Squadron 303 about the legendary Polish fighter squadron in the Battle of Britain, sold over 1.5 million copies and was recently published in English by Aquila Polonica Publishing.
