Revisiting Scripture

This densely filled book presents the author’s study of Christian Scripture by topic. The emphasis is on what passages are relevant (all Bible text is included adjacent to the discussion) and how those passages can and have been used by Christians to reach doctrinal and theological positions. Among the topics are: the nature and translation of Scripture; how logic is used in arguments; right handling of Scripture; Covenants and the two testaments; Christian attitudes toward Jews; God as the embodiment of 1 Corinthians 13; Salvation; Christian living; Christian church structure and practices; Charismatic and Pentecostal emphasis on divine gifts and practices; death; Heaven; Hell; and end times. The goal is to increase Christian unity by understanding how various positions can be reached from Scripture and to encourage the reader to revisit their own background and traditions in the light of Scripture.
