This book is not for those who are content with their faith as it is proclaimed and practiced. It is for those who might echo the words, I believe. Help my disbelief. I wish to show how very bright, well-intentioned people lost their focus and created doctrines that are more destructive to the human spirit than beneficial. Because institutions like churches are reluctant to change their ways, these doctrines have found their way into the mainstream of much Christian thought. Hopefully, I will have given enough material for readers to work out their own faithone that fulfills, empowers, and liberates.
