This book provides a blueprint for community activism and civic engagement. If one is not satisfied with one's local government, then one must take action. It only takes a few committed citizens to effect changes. The author's community activism led him to become a member of the Henrico County Civic League in 1982, where he served as vice president and as president twice. He felt the League's history and accomplishments needed to be told to inspire other community activists to use the contents of this book to further engage citizens to become more involved in their communities.
