My cousin MVS told me over phone once that he liked my articles. He also said "Garudu, you have been writing articles on religious matters. It would be nice if you can write about people who have touched your life sometime in some way". I have therefore planned to cover, in this book, my life experiences including interactions with relatives and friends. I have been writing articles on various subjects. Some of these are published and some were circulated to close groups. These were listed under 'BRG Books'. My first book, 'An Engineer's Dream' was published by Outskirts Press, USA. This book dealt with my early years, schooling, jobs, and post retirement assignments. I felt the need for bringing all the books/writings under one umbrella. I have named the new title as BI series. BI stands for Bhartur Iyengar. Book 2 (the present title) - FAMILIES, FRIENDS, ATMABANDHUS and UNFORGETTABLE INCIDENTS. This book deals with Families, Friends and 'Atmabandhus' (soul relations). Atmabandhus are well-wishers who have great concern for the welfare of their close friends and families, though not blood relations. Our elders have made great sacrifices to provide for our good education and settling well in life. They have by constant advice and personal example taught us the values of honesty, integrity, generosity, and ethics. We owe them a great debt of gratitude and the best way to show this would be by trying to emulate their example. It is my fond hope that this book will help the younger generations to know their family background and to imbibe some of these qualities.
