God has given us abilities to quiet our storms. He has given us the authority to rebuke the winds and waves (John 14:13-14). Storms can be swift, unexpected, and overwhelming, as well as small, persistent, and annoying. Yet, every storm carries a lesson, be it large or small, we just have to be receptive to what that lesson may be. If we listen carefully, our storms and setbacks can become our opportunities, which set us up for success. Remember, not all storms come to disrupt our lives, some come to clear our paths to greater things. When we learn to take our eyes off our storms and set our sights toward the only One who can truly do anything about them, then, we will make it through the storms, or find peace during the storm.
