While Odenseye is no stranger to change, the times have been darkening, leaving us with little light but that which we make ourselves.
New stories are written, new sagas, and those who live these tales will shape the world that looms on the horizon. Empires fall, lives are lost, and that which we knew will pass away with the seasons.
The Sagas of Odenseye is a new fantasy book series by JD McLucas and Ryan McGuire, published by Pathfinder Media Group. As the world enters a new era, a simple blacksmith, a soldier and a Dwarven priest join up with a clan of Northmen to face down the threats of a darker dawn.
Meanwhile, the Empire of Niralan struggles for domination of the north, seeking a final end to the old ways of Odenseye's Empires.
THE SEASONS PASS ON, AND THE OLD WORLD GOES WITH THEM
The chill winds of Autumn carry along the bitter shifting of an age. The wheel of war turns, crushing a once-great empire into the mud. Hungering shadows arise from the mire of time, seeking their prize in the midst of the wanton bloodshed. New sagas are written, and those few that find themselves named in the unraveling stories can do little but strive to hold against the tempest.
Within the dark clouds of the storm a small-town blacksmith named Alauren finds her peaceful, mundane life upended by the mysterious appearance of a Dwarf called Valin. Joined by her old friend, a retired soldier named Edlevin, Alauren must face down the rapid changing of the world while simultaneously adjusting to life among a vicious, gargantuan race of peoples known as the Northmen. All the while, she is stalked across land and ocean by a group of enigmatic and shadowy pursuers, having little choice but to go where the wind takes her while doing what she can to survive the seemingly unending onslaught of darkness.
The first of the Sagas of Odenseye, Conquering Autumn, is a tale of loss and reaction, grief and healing, trauma and recovery, and so much more. This epic fantasy series is an exploration of what it means to be alive, as well as the emotional and mental impact of being a part of a world that is rapidly falling apart. When the dust settles, can any truly retain their sanity?
