The story centers around a young tea garden manager named Rajib, who finds solace in solitude and expresses his thoughts through poetry under a pen name. He crosses paths with Antora, a young college lecturer from a bustling city who appreciates quiet surroundings. Living close to one another, they eventually develop feelings for each other. However, Antora is unaware that Rajib is her favorite poet, as he writes anonymously.

Despite her growing affection for Rajib, she is hesitant to fully commit to a relationship, holding back due to an untold story from her past that she is reluctant to share. This emotional barrier prevents her from getting as close to him as he desires. As their connection deepens, Rajib's love for Antora pushes him to help her confront her fears, but her past continues to haunt her, making it difficult for her to embrace their love completely.

When Antora tells Rajib that she was previously married for just a month, Rajib remains silent and does not respond. Antora realizes that Rajib feels sympathy for her rather than love, leading her to make a significant decision. She understands that sympathy alone cannot bring lasting happiness.

Bindia, the cook who prepared meals for Antora and Rajib, played a crucial role in their relationship. Her influence extended beyond the kitchen as she became a bridge connecting the two.

Two days later, as dusk painted the sky in hues of indigo and gold, Rajib approached the bungalow, resolved to share his heartfelt decision to marry Antora despite the turbulent circumstances. However, as he stepped onto the verandah, he saw Bindia, her face streaked with tears, lost in a vortex of sorrow.

Within the shadows of the dimming light, Rajib's heart sank as he learned of Antora's life-altering choice: she had resigned from her job, left behind the familiar landscape, and penned a devastating letter to him, declaring that their paths would never cross again.

Clutching the letter, the paper trembling, Rajib felt like a statue carved from despair. The twilight cast a somber glow over the bungalow, amplifying the void that stretched before him-a chasm of loss and unfulfilled dreams. As tears welled in his eyes, the weight of the moment pressed heavily on his chest, leaving him to confront the emptiness that now defined his future.
