At last, the decades-long suspense has finally come to a close for all fans of the original "Can't Buy Me Love" story!
We pick up immediately after Ronald Miller and Cindy Mancini figuratively and literally ride off into the sunset. We are not trying to reimagine them in the 21st century. The setting and the time in history are the same, although we do add a few new locations since the main characters have moved on to college. Attempts to revise the point of view of that era are kept to a minimum. In keeping with the spirit of the original tale, we have limited changes due to political correctness.
The author's aim with the end result is to provide a refreshing, energizing, and fun tale of fiction, with the idea to please many readers, even those who are unfamiliar with the original adventures of the star characters. This book has a very short first chapter with those same readers in mind.
"Lawn Boy Turned Astronomer" captures the personalities of Ronald Miller, Cindy Mancini, and Patty Kismet in a follow-up that is totally believable in terms of their fictitious characters. Whereas the original story covers only one year, this version covers four years and packs many interesting and even hilarious episodes into what should be an enjoyable journey.
