Sofia and Richard

Sofia and Richard is a Regency-era romance centered around two families from different ends of the social spectrum-one by birth, the other by true standing.

Admiral Sir James Hawke retires after decades of honorable service to the Crown and moves with his wife, Lady Anne, and their son Richard to the Charlton estate in Somerset. Though modest in manner, the Hawkes are no ordinary family-deeply respected by royalty and high society, yet rarely flaunting their titles.

Their new neighbors, the Altons of Highbury estate-Baronet Edward, Lady Victoria, and their daughter Sofia-regard the Hawkes as social upstarts. Unaware of the Hawkes' royal connections, Lady Victoria dismisses them as mere Navy folk trying to buy status.

As young Richard and Sofia begin spending time together, bonding over horses and the countryside, a friendship blossoms into a tender romance. Over time, both families come to understand each other, breaking through class prejudice and social expectations.

At its heart, the story follows Richard and Sofia's journey from innocent companionship to love, revealing that true worth lies not in titles or wealth, but in character, respect, and affection.
