Zak Brady is a 15-year-old teenage boy who lives and breathes football, he is an only child to parents Roy and Molly. He yearns for a brother, but the closest he gets is his childhood friend Lee O'Brien. Both teenagers attend Mountmear College just 4 miles from Oakheart. They both play for the school team and they are going well in the league and cup, but face their bitter rivals Oakheart Rovers in the semi-finals.
