Blake Sterling MD, fresh out of residency, joins the Pulmonary Associates, a three-man specialty group affiliated with the Flintridge Medical Center. Within a month of entering private practice, Blake is called to consult on the first of seven patients with atypical pneumonia. He soon establishes that his patients have been infected with bocavirus, a recently discovered virus that normally causes only mild symptoms.
