THE MESSENGER has been writing poetry since 1999, which is one of her gifts and passions. Her poetry is a result of her life experiences, as well as those of her family and close friends. She grew up in the close-knit community of Twin Lakes, Michigan, which she refers to as the "Country." Teresa attended White Hall schools, growing up during a time when the saying "it takes a village to raise a child" wasn't just a saying. She currently resides in Muskegon, MI, with her husband for 17 years, Robert Dye, and she has three daughters, Tamara West (and her husband Prentice), Lavonda Knox, and Crystal Dye, two Sons, Robert Jr. (and his wife Lucretia) and Julius, three grandsons (Derek, Larenzo, Robert III), five granddaughters (Ashara, Diamond, Jakaiya, Nia, and Malea), one great-granddaughter (Alyse) and one great-grandson (Camden).
