The author was born in Baltimore, MD in 1950. He graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 1972. He has authored one other book;

"Cultural Morphology". He is the president and founder (1993) of Compton Trading, Inc.; a scrap metal marketing company. He currently resides in Rancho Palos Verdes with his wife, Suzanne.
