In A Queer Prisoner's Anthology Vol. 9, imprisoned LGBTQ artists share comics and stories about hard decisions, cruel systems, lost loves, and broken dreams that still echo years later. These are not neat redemption tales, and they don't pretend that pain is pretty; they are raw, funny, heartbreaking, and wise reflections on what we wish we could change, what we wouldn't trade, and what we've learned the hard way.

Through ink and paper, contributors turn the weight of regret into something else: connection, perspective, and hard-won wisdom for anyone facing their own past. Beautiful Regrets is a testament to the power of storytelling to transform pain. Not by erasing it, but by naming it, learning from it, and offering that wisdom forward as comfort, honesty, and solidarity.

ABO Comix is a collective of queer creators and activists who work to uplift the voices of LGBTQ people in prison through art. The collective publishes anthologies, displays artwork in their Oakland shop, and builds community connections that help artists inside feel seen, valued, and supported. Contributors can send in any kind of creative work art, comics, poetry, writing and ABO helps share it with the outside world while offering small donations when pieces are selected for publications or displayed in the shop. At its heart, ABO is about connection, creative expression, and giving incarcerated artists a place where their voices matter and their stories can reach beyond the walls.
