Reggie and Arlene and the Community Garden is based on a real garden in Worcester, Massachusetts-the Community Teaching Garden Literacy Project (CTGLP). The garden is being designed to be an interactive space to encourage the community to become interested in gardening and environmental stewardship through the development of a curriculum for students and members of the community. To accomplish this we are developing visual and performing arts opportunities as well as creating information and social spaces that will contain thematic sitting benches, community board, Little free libraries, a blessing box, and outdoor musical instruments. Additionally we will be developing an equity walk focusing on equity, diversity and inclusion on the sidewalk in the neighborhood that will end at the CTGLP.
