Jon Smith is a CIA Paramilitary Operations Officer and retired Navy SEAL. He's one of those anonymous, brave men we employ to travel the world battling all manner of evil to protect us and our interests. His loyal teammate, retired Australian Special Air Service Regiment Sergeant Major Angus "Angie" Hawkins, is never far from his side. They are in Chechnya settling unfinished business with a modern-day vampire and human trafficker, when Jon receives an urgent BROKEN ARROW text from his brother, small town Deputy Sheriff Zack Goodson, on the other side of the world. The two-word code shared by the brothers means someone in their immediate family is in mortal danger and help is needed ASAP.

An unidentified assassin has accidentally blown himself up while planting a bomb under Zack's wife's car. Zack sends his wife and young son to her parents' farm outside the small rural community of Farmington for safekeeping with two deputy sheriffs to protect them. While he investigates the bombing, the farmhouse is attacked, and his wife and son are abducted. An angry, vindictive man calls Zack from his wife's cell phone to tell him he intends to torture and murder Zack's family, but the situation is not as it seems. Jon, Angie, and Zack discover a much larger attack is planned that will endanger the entire Metropolitan Saint Louis Area while the newly elected President holds a rally downtown.
