Embark on Seven Exciting Cases!
Detective Bryant moved across the intersection alongside the car that waited for him. When the light changed, that driver gave their gas pedal more attention, causing the white hatch-back to drive off quickly. It neared the end of the next block at the same time that Detective Bryant took his first step on the curb. He walked alone, but his trench coat made up for it. The coat took up an equal amount of space on its path as a single unit of two or three rookie police.
When Theo stopped to observe the traffic passing on his right, the jacket clung to him. He moved forward at once, at a quick speed, his gate wider than before. He dashed towards the next intersection. As the corners of his trench coat floated out, he held onto his floppy-eared, deer-stalker hat with one hand.
The crime scene was already roped off with yellow tape when PI Bryant made his arrival. When he stepped under the yellow tape, he unbuttoned his long, pin-striped coat in one motion. Its three buttons opened enough to allow room for his hand to tuck his hat into the inside breast pocket in exchange for a small, wired notepad. He flipped the notepad open along its top coil, and as it hinged open he started to accomplish writing his Introductory Dossier, preliminary notes he would write before speaking to a badge-wearing member of the police department, on the scene.
These short stories are part of the Detective Theo & Doctor Valentico series, written and created by Shaun Vain.
