Summer of Robo-Machine

The beach is usually a fun place to spend a nice day. When a guy meets a girl he likes it usually ends in

them going on a date. The story of how two people meet is usually pretty romantic and normal, but in

this story on this beach it’s far from your usual love story. How does a simple visit to the beach get as

chaotic as this? How do the lives of two people end up depending on the fighting ability of a mysterious

robot? Can true love still find a way, even after a monster attack? In a cute and super charged graphic

novel that’s more action than novel, find out how the summer ends.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Dontrell Carter is a young freelance Chicago-based artist who is self-taught. He is very passionate about having more varieties of Black representation in the Fantasy genre. In his career, he has become an Illustration Teacher at the same art center he regularly attended as a young teen where he teaches middle and highschool students how to draw comics. Summer of Robo-Machine is his first comic book. He illustrated, rendered, and scripted the entire book himself. The inspiration for his works comes from his love of the television shows he watched, and the video games he played when he was a child like Power Rangers and Megaman. But the theme that remains an important part of his works is his love of drawing Black People, and portraying them as adventurers and heroes like charters in his favorite comics and media.
