Patrick Brennan, sector chief for the U. S. Border Patrol along New Mexico’s border with Mexico, discovers a young, pregnant Mexican woman who has entered the United States illegally to deliver her baby and start a new life. Suffering from a severe rattlesnake bite when found, Teresa Morales certainly will die without immediate medical attention. Brennan carries Teresa out of the desert and saves her life.

Michael Carrigan’s The Saint of Enchiladaville includes his story Immigration Man and serves as a sequel and conclusion of the characters Pat Brennan and Teresa Morales. Michael Carrigan was born in Midland, TX and raised in Roswell, NM. He is a graduate of New Mexico Military Institute and New Mexico State University with an honors degree in Range Science. He also did graduate work in Range Science at Texas Tech University. Now retired, Carrigan’s career included the USDA, BASF, and DuPont. Also, he served a 12 month tour as agricultural advisor to the Provincial Reconstruction Team, Anbar Province, Iraq and taught ESL in Mongolia. He currently lives in Windsor, CO with his wife of 52 years where he is a middle school substitute teacher and avid golfer.
