This book and its content is derived from the Ph.D. cohort, required-curriculum class for Education Foundations 814: Qualitative Research in Education, taught by Dr. Danica G. Hays, in the Fall Semester of 2010. The project was to create a foundation upon which to design the Ph.D.' student's dissertation, and/or provide a stepping-stone foundation upon which to determine the best research methodologies for the student's final prospectus and dissertation. The initial dissertation research study was to be qualitative, but during development of the proposed prospectus and study, it was determined that a blend of both qualitative and quantitative methods would be best for the final study. The results of the Qualitative Research in Education class provided this final project write-up, with literature review and bibliography, and is provided here in its description entirety, with exception of the anonymous participants' details.
