He describes an early Roman pogrom (massacre) in the first century against Jewish Christians in Antioch, southern Turkey. With careful attention to historical and religious context, the author has produced a sensitive and dramatic fictional account of what might, indeed, have led to the reverse exodus from Antioch to Israel by wealthy Jewish Christians who financed the fine place of worship, a synagogue/church whose mosaic floor celebrates the glorious symbol known only to those who followed the sign of the fish to a place of safety and thanksgiving.
