II Chronicles: 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

If I went out on a limb in telling Titus how great I thought you were, you didn’t cut off that limb. As it turned out, I hadn’t exaggerated one bit.

When the people sin and God is forced to show them who’s boss (in the form of draughts, plaques, and pestilence), he lets Solomon know he’ll be

waiting for his apology in the Temple. If the people of Israel are humble

and about the things they’ve done wrong, God is totally willing to stop

killing them with disease and famine.
