‘Last Red Dirt Embrace’ is the final book in a series. the ‘Dreaming Sam Peckinpah Quintet.’ This book is a single long poem that can be read as a series of related lyrical poems dealing with elements of the author’s life and his responses to the death of his mother. The writer says in the preface, the mother appearing in these lines is both my mother but also a metaphor.
