Pangaea is the continuing story of Captain Lionheart and his starship, the Onyx Tower. Having satisfied himself with the exploration of the Alpha Centauri system, Lionheart set course for his next place of interest, Barnard's Star. But the Onyx Tower never reached its destination. Instead, it was caught in a powerful space wave, pulled off course and ended up in a trinary star system, almost a thousand light years away. Once there, the crew discovers a double planet system, circling the nearest star. The system is just outside the habitable zone, in a region that is far too cold for liquid water, yet one of them is a warm, Earth like planet. This is the result of an artificial heat source, created by celestial engineering on a scale never dreamed of. At first contact, Lionheart and crew believe they have encountered a highly advanced civilization, but soon discover the planet appears to be uninhabited. Further exploration reveals the distant world has a terrible curse in the form of an ancient deadly entity. It is still active and was designed to terminate all forms of intelligent life. Once the entity is aware of his presence, Lionheart and crew find themselves overwhelmed. It soon becomes clear that the Onyx Tower is no match against it. The crew can't run, and they can't fight. The entity seems to have an inexhaustible power source. Facing certain doom, Lionheart knows he must fulfill a destiny, but can't imagine how.
