A dark comedy in one act about the Clinton administration. On January 26, 1998, President Bill Clinton tells the American people, I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky. Monica Lewinsky, twenty-one years old when she first arrived at the White House, becomes the center of a political storm. Disclosure of this extramarital affair results in an investigation that leads the U.S. House of Representatives to impeach the president later that year. After a twenty-one day trial by the Senate, Mr. Clinton is acquitted of the charges of perjury and obstruction of justice. This one-act play imagines, from the vantage of hindsight, this unfortunate episode in American presidential history.
