The Knight of Innocence

A few months ago I couldn’t pay my electric bill. They cut my power. Anyway, it was cold, and I had a box of Pop-Tarts in the cabinet. It was the only food I had, and I figured I could use the sword to power my toaster. I hooked my jumper cables up to the sword and toaster, and then I put a little will into the sword. My toaster spat white fire, my Pop-Tarts were vaporized, and I learned that science and religion don’t mix.

You used a holy relic, a conduit of mystical power, to run a toaster? Eden asked.

I really wanted Pop-Tarts, I said.
