When a job on a movie about an Australian war hero takes photographer and undercover agent Alby Murdoch to Vietnam, he quickly discovers it's not just the cameras doing the shooting.

After Alby snaps a picture of the wrong passing cyclo he is soon dodging bullets - again, this time on an adrenaline-charged chase through the streets of Saigon, Hong Kong and Macau and on into the parched outback of Australia's Top End.

Along with his former flame, the delectable but dangerous celebrity chef Jezebel Quick, and an alluring new friend and police sharpshooter Lieutenant Nhu Hoang, Alby is hot on the trail of an Aussie military legend missing, presumed dead, for over thirty years.

The trio are thrust into the murky watch-your-back world of casino crime lords, rogue expats, bent politicians, contract assassins and killer fish. It turns out the latest seafood sensation heading for the menus of Australian restaurants might just cause a crippling ecological disaster.

Alby needs all his undercover experience, charm, quick wits and the help of a few old mates to avoid becoming fish food.
