When aliens come to their adopted planet, Caralee, her little sister, and the grocery boy, Danuel, are forced to flee into the wilderness. They are soon captured and sent up to the alien ship where they get trained for their new responsibilities. Caralee and Danuel have no choice but to adapt to Planet Burska's wishes - to live with nature, to accept the Herd Spiders as their friends, and to marry and bear a son. Miguel, their baby, develops strange tendencies, like singing and conversing with the Spiders. The Herd Spiders proclaim him their Spider King. When Burska demands that Danuel and Caralee wake-up the kids who are being kept in stasis, the young couple must meet a new challenge. These kids, most of them teenagers, have been separated from their parents and must learn to adapt to their new environment. That is a challenge on its own, but first, Danuel and Caralee have to teach the kids how to get along with each other.
