Time, Gentlemen Please!

Short stories should endeavour to impart a statement about the human condition, society, or life at the time of writing; to invoke certain memories, or moods, very similar to music. These simple, easy reads, written over 30 years are intended to amuse, rather than to cause heartaches in trying to fathom out their meaning. As a mental entertainment, I hope they achieve their goal.

A South Londoner, born and bred, his previous collection of short stories published in 2016 was entitled "A Host of Females". In this collection, Dave Shonfield explores the concept of time. It passes so quickly and catches up with all of us. Time begets History, and we will never see characters, contained in these stories, such as Wilfred Pickles, Jimmy Hill, Arfur Daly or Doris Day ever again.
